Mt Warning – The eroded central chamber of the world ‘s largest extinct shield volcano and the place where the dawn sun first touches the Eastern seaboard of the Australian continent. Meaning “cloud catcher” or “cloud warrior” depending on who you ask, the top of Mt Warning is approximately a 5 hour return hike.
Mount Warning is part of the United Nations World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.

There’s an array of wonderful National Parks and bushwalking tracks only a short drive from Waterfall Hideout, such as Natural Bridge Arch and Natural Bridge National Park, Binna Burra, Numinbah Valley, Springbrook National Park, O’Reilly’s Plateau and Lamington National Park, Tambourine Mountain Glow Worm Caves, Wollumbin National Park, Nightcap National Park, Limpinwood Nature Reserve, Border Ranges National Park, Mount Jerusalem National Park, Mooball National Park, and Byron Bay National Parks and Hinterland.
You may get peckish after your bushwalk and long drive, or you may just be in the mood to explore gastronimical delights of the local area, so head to our nearby restaurants or take the Gold Coast Hinterland Food and Wine Trail.
